Its puja time...

The fragrance of sewalis..the rustic smell of the earth and the chill in the air..just reminds me of one thing...puja is round the corner...
Yesterday, while walking back my way to hostel, the sewali trees rustling in the wind, somehow reminded me of my good old childhood days...
The days when durga puja meant craving for a new frock, new shoes and those fancy new hairbands.I used to pester my parents hard...and that trip to the nearby  market always brought a triumphant smile on the face. Hummmph ..:)) and more if my acquisitions prove to be better than my friends.

Durga puja meant long walks to the nearby puja pandals craving for every colourful balloons, trumpets and what not that I happened to see on the way.
The courtyard in our liitle home in Tezpur becomes laden with the carpet of sewali flowers, its fragance exhilarating the minds. Durga puja mornings meant picking up the flowers and making garlands-there was an inexplicable kind of joy in it.
Times have changed and so have I;but that little child in me always dances with excitement when puja is round the corner.
Have a great puja this year folks..:)
